Learn MoreWaldorf Astoria Orlando offers relaxation, refinement, and unparalleled access to Florida’s most popular attractions. Whether you’re looking to elevate the magic of your Disney experience or unwind after a long day at the theme parks, the resort accommodates guests of all ages with the best of both worlds.
“At Waldorf Astoria Orlando, your family can experience the parks without sacrificing the luxuries one enjoys at a five-star resort,” says Carmen Teresa Targa, a member of the Travel + Leisure Travel Advisory Board and owner of Condado Travel. During a peaceful “momcation” without her three young sons, Targa experienced her own childlike wonder. “Passing underneath the ‘Welcome to Disney’ sign, the kid in you wants to come out and play.”
As an official Walt Disney World® Hotel, Waldorf Astoria Orlando offers convenient perks, like 30-minute early entry to all four theme parks and complimentary transportation to whisk you to and from the action. Larger-than-life memories are made on the property, as well. The warm, attentive staff goes above and beyond to create extraordinary moments for guests.
“It’s perfect for well-traveled parents who want to make Disney a once-in-a-lifetime trip for their kids,” says Targa.
Fun touches like cotton candy, chocolate-covered strawberries, and flutes of bubbly elevate the check-in process. For birthdays, a personal concierge can arrange in-room surprises, like balloons, florals, and a custom candy display. Holidays feel extra special at the resort, with festive decor and family-friendly events year-round.
Magical days begin with doughy cinnamon rolls and a plate of legendary Waldorf Astoria Eggs Benedict at Oscar’s Brasserie. From there, catch a food festival in EPCOT or take on adrenaline-rushing rides at the Magic Kingdom. With round-the-clock shuttle service, you’ll be back at one of the two sparkling resort pools before anyone has a chance to get overtired.
“Families were having fun playing ping pong and cornhole by the pool, and older children were in the kids’ club for the day,” observed Targa, who found her own poolside bliss in a private cabana, with space for up to six and light bites from the pool bar and grill, Aquamarine. “In true Disney fashion, everyone was happy.”
For another way to savor the Florida sunshine, the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club designed by Rees Jones offers a satisfying 18 holes. “The golf facilities are amazing,” gushes Targa, and The Clubhouse Grille is an ideal lunch spot with views of the driving range and practice putting green..
As evening falls, anticipation builds for the iconic Walt Disney World® fireworks that light up the night. From the balcony of select suites, you’ll get a front-row view, and can order room-service champagne for extra sparkle.
With room for four, Deluxe Family Suites are equipped with thoughtful comforts like bath bombs, plush toys, and a selection of board games. For larger groups, the expansive Astoria Suites offer two-to four-bedroom floor plans with private balconies. From pillow types to temperature settings, suites are customized to your preferences.
Learn MoreSerene and spacious, Waldorf Astoria Orlando still manages to feel “away from it all” given its close proximity to the parks. Surrounded by the Bonnet Creek nature preserve, the resort channels its tropical environs with lush landscaping and natural design details. A textural relief of palm fronds frames the front desk, while the delicate crystal leaves of a handmade chandelier light up the lobby.
Relaxation awaits at the exceptional Waldorf Astoria Spa, which boasts one of the few Himalayan Salt Therapy Rooms in the country (and the first in Florida). Its salty air is prized for its therapeutic benefits. Targa opted for the signature Sand & Sea Massage, an immersive healing experience. The treatment features a waterbed to evoke the sensation of bobbing on the waves and a warm bed of sand reminiscent of lying on a beach. “What I liked the most about this treatment was that I felt present the entire time,” recalls Targa.
After enjoying downtime, families can reconvene and relive the day’s most magical memories over dinner at Bull & Bear, which Targa called “simply spectacular.” The award-winning steakhouse delights with a clubby, mid-century aesthetic of dark wood and geometric accents and a theatrical tableside presentation. The menu gets high marks for its kid-approved fried chicken and its tomahawk steak for two.
“The Wagyu was melt-in-your–mouth delicious, but I couldn’t leave without trying their signature dessert, the Lemon — a candied lemon filled with lemon sorbet,” says Targa. “It had just the right balance between tart and sweet.”
Parents can recover from a busy day with a nightcap in the jazzy setting of Peacock Alley. “I had one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had,” raves Targa. “I found my entire time at Waldorf Astoria Orlando to be so restorative and tranquil. You are in Disney, after all — the happiest place on earth.”
